George’s Rockstars Update
Back in September we brought the news of an exciting new partnership between AMFA and the fantastic George’s Rockstars, who provide music therapy at hospitals throughout Hampshire. Here’s a bitesize update on the big news from them and what they have been up to so far in 2025!
Music therapy comes to Worthing!
George’s Rockstars are starting music therapy at their sixth hospital, the Bluefin Ward in Worthing.
Therapy began at the ward through Waves Music Therapy charity who are facing huge demand for their community-based music therapy and have handed the project over to George’s Rockstars to continue supporting the children and families on the ward.
Music Therapist Natasha will be taking on the sessions at Worthing thanks to funding from the Sussex Community Foundation and George’s younger sister Bella proudly delivered a new trolley full of instruments to the ward on a recent inset day from school.
George’s Rockstars therapist carry out fantastic work all over the region. Here’s just some of the heartwarming feedback they have received from parents over recent months.
“After a tough week Oliver is starting to seem more like himself and I feel like we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We had a wonderful time today with a visit from Natasha from George’s Rockstars which was lovely as Oliver loves music! It couldn’t have been better timed as Oliver was having a break off his BiPaP mask so he could properly sit up, join in and he really enjoyed himself! So grateful for them coming to brighten our time in hospital! Thank you!”
